Idk how many of you are aware of this but by 2019, europeans might lose the internet as we know it forever. Article 13 has as a plan that if someone in europe goes against the copyright laws on the internet it‘s not that person itself anymore that will get in trouble but instead the entire website. If i for example used a copyrighted song in a youtube video and the creator of said song was against me using it, it would not be me who would get a lawsuit but youtube itself. So you can imagine how much trouble that would be for youtube to get lawsuits right and left 24/7. so Youtube decided to delete every european channel that does not belong to a major big company, in 2019.

That means every tutorial to create stuff, draw or learn a language or that one video you needed to learn for your science project or just simple entertainment like let‘s plays, vlogs or comedy made by europeans will be deleted, same thing goes for memes or if you post a quote or lyric from your favourite book/song online. The only european youtube videos you will be able to see at that point will belong to major companies like BILD (basically the german version of fox news). Youtube‘s slogan “broadcast yourself“ will no longer apply to europe, we will no longer be able to make videos, post art or quotes by authors we find amazing online.

Article 13 is taking away our right to speak our own opinion.

We need to fight Article 13 while we can. Spread #SaveYourInternet all over social media. Say why you are against Article 13. And yes non europeans can and should do this too. Please i know this is not about america! Please help us save the internet as we know it. Help us save our freedom of speech! I beg you
