pretending kpop is the only industry with problems… okay then. western media is a prime example where people are constantly overworked and exploited. like do u stop watching every movie ever bc of what goes on in the industry? do u completely give up all music? u can continue to listen to music and watch films while simultaneously acknowledging the negative aspects of the industries, ur just xenophobic..
someone reblogged my post crying about me overreacting like how am i overreacting snjsjsiwow like im not being defensive of kpop im literally pointing the fact that people are constantly pinpointing asian media as like the peak of all evil and acting like anything western is superior bc theyre xenophobic and racist
the point seems to be going over a few ppls heads lol. this isnt about tossing the blame or whatever. this is a direct response to the post criticizing kpop saying “how did it get so popular its generic and stupid also the industry is bad.” like 99% of what you consume will be “problematic”. when you buy clothes, how and where were they made? how much are the employees being payed where you got dinner the other night? what im saying is, its important to be critical and aware of what you consume, but you cant “cancel” everything because its bad. if that were the case, we’d all be naked hermits. every media industry has very negative aspects, and we should ackowledge it and discuss it, but we only seem to be attacking foreign media, specifically asian media IE kpop, chinese artists. its western supremacy, xenophobia, and racism thats fueling it and thats why kpop fans are upset with the post. its not a valid, educated critcism.
